    Hi all,

    I'm trying to cleanup a friends computer. I've noticed there's about 185 edb.log files: eg:ebd0009.log.

There's a lot of numbers after edb before the ".log" extension

Is it OK to delete them? They're in the CatRoot2 folder.

What kind program did you use to find these files with?

EDIT: For what it's worth, I use CCleaner to remove junk files from my XP and Windows 7 computers, and I noticed that the program removes .log files as well. I haven't had any issues with .log file removal, but I would make a restore point just in case things don't go right after removal.

CatRoot2 is a folder used by windows update. Once Update is complete it is safe to delete.

It is also suggested to delete that folder if Update hangs.

    @ James,

I did a Search for .log files as they can pile up.

    @ Loser,

I'll try that now. (Note: there's a few files in there I'm not sure of, so I didn't delete them: dberr.txt; edb.chk; edb.log; res1.log; and two that have a { in front of of a long string of numbers). Go ahead and delete them?

U can remove the entire folder.. absolutely no harm to computer.

while deleting it, u may get error about some services. Let me know if 'services' error occurs.

    Good Luck

If I'm not mistaken, Windows built-in disk cleanup tool will remove .log files too.
