Im using windows vista with a sound blaster pci 128 sound card, sound is werking perfectly but when i plug something into the "line-in" on my sound card the computer can hear it and i can record it using windows sound recorder or any other program but i cannot hear it live.
In windows xp by default the sound was muted is this the case in windows vista?

    Thanks, Dale

In my Vista, neither "line-in ", nor microphone are muted.

I bought a Premium version of Vista and installed it on our desktop a Dual Boot I have set up with XP, and for some reason the sound will not work with the WinTV Haugpauge card. everything else works fine. I assume there is a compatiblity issue but everything says its working fine. I gave up after a week of fooling with it.
    Good luck with it:)

A PCI 128 Creative card is relatively old. It may be installed as a Soundblaster audio chipset, but using the different inputs may depend on installing the software from Creative.

If you have the original software/drivers disk that came with the card, you may be able to get it run as more than "sound ".

I doubt if Creative will have any Vista driver or software updates for it.
