    Hello,
When I attempt to activate offline files in Windows 2000 Pro, I notice that it is uncheckable. IE it is blanked out and I cannot turn them on.
As far as I can see, there are no policies on the domain which are stopping the use of offline files, so does anyone know what the problem is?

    Many thanks...

Could it be a local policy on the PC itself? In the absence of a domain policy, that seems like a place to check.

start~run~gpedit.msc and the quickest way to find out would be to click on Action then Properties and you should see check boxes to disable local computer and user configuration settings. It's a toggle so you haven't changed any settings by doing this and unckecking will put things back as they are now.

No change.. even though nothing was set; I set the "disable offline files" to 'disabled' just in case.

    Edit:

Woopsie. I didn't notice the 'enable offline files' was set to disable. Gee, I wasnt aware of a computer policy aswell as a user policy. :)

    Thanks for the help.
