office xp speech problem

    dictation does not work in office xp word . yet voice command works fine. dictation does work in powerpoint allthough it isn't very accurate at least it reacts to my speaking. i have done the training in the speech tools. i'm running win 98se on a new computer with 1.2ghz athalon proccesor,256mb ram,soundblaster 512 audio,+a decent headset,allthough it isn,t usb. the thing is it works in some programs but in word it won't do anything when dictating. i think i'm doing something wrong or have something set wrong,but have tried everyhing i can think of. I noticed it will dictate in powerpoint at the beginning of the document but doesn't work if you dictate an attachment.I don't know if it works in the other office xp apps. as I have not tried them. I really only want it in office. I would suspect my microphone but it works perfectly in voice command mode and when training.Also the dictation works good in the beginning of a document in powerpoint. please help

    Do you have TextBridge installed? If so, Instant Access can conflict with the dictation feature. See Q302598
