When I try to install Office XP Professional I get an error saying that the file "OFFICE1.CAB" is corrupt. I have tried every fix, even the one on the Microsoft website and the same thing happens. My OFFICE1.CAB is 219 megs, is that is correct size? Here is a screenshot of the exact error:

    Any help?

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum, I didn't realize there was an "Applications" forum :p .

Yes, that was one of the pages I read. I tried both of their so called "workarounds" and neither worked. :(

Have you tried copying the disk to your hard drive and activating set up from there?

Sorry....I've no idea. I'm down to guessing now. :( Is this an OEM...or has it been activated once before?

There is yet another MS KB article dealing with the problem...Q284250...with even more "suggestions" for dealing with the error.

If none of those work, you can try downloading the office1.cab file listedHERE. It says it's 31.7 megs. Another site I found said the file is 44 megs. If it is the correct file then you can copy the contents of the install CD, minus office1.cab, to your harddrive, add the downloaded cab file to wherever it belongs in that folder and try the install from there.

Be forewarned...the download site linked to above is an edu site and, like 99.9% of all edu sites, it's SLOOOW.
