Everytime I open Excel I recive the following error message:

"Compile error in hidden module: AutoExecNew "

and when I close I get:

"Compile error in hidden module: DistMon "

both are under a "Microsoft Visual Basic" heading

I have tried running detect and repair but this does not cure the problem

    can anyone help?

altough i do have norton installed, im almost sure its going to be the adobe thing. i recently installed it for an hour or so then removed it.

I'll attempt to remove the Adobe file that the unistall file must have left behind. i think i had to do the same for word but the error message was a little simpler.

    many thanks

    sorted now

should anyone ever have the same problem, Adobe PDFMaker 5.0 fails to remove the "pdfmaker.xla" file from the "C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office10/XLStart" folder.

I manually deleted this and problem cured

    Many thanks
    Jon
