When I start my PC I get an error box that pops up called,

    Office Web Server Configuration Wizard

I have no idea what it's for or how to get rid of it. can someone help?

Office Web Server - was the original name for what is now called SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft.

Not sure exactly what triggered this error message but if you click on start, on run, key in msconfig, and click OK then click on the startup tab, you should find the critter that is trying and failing to start. Just uncheck the startup entry and it will quit trying.

SharePoint Team Services or SharePoint Services is the program although you may have a really old version for it to still have the code name they used during development.

It is not essential to operation of the PC or much of anything unless you are doing some of the collaborative web hosting it is designed for.

Unless you can find something in add/remove (maybe the Microsoft section of that and maybe you have to tweak your sysoc.inf file for it to show up) I don't know how to suggest you go about removing the app.
