We have a WIn 2k machien and have had to install Office 97 on it for the user (DOn't ask :) )

The network is a NT 4 one patched up to the latest patch.

The user hardly has any rights (I don't have control over the network so can't change them)

When the user uses Word there is no Spelling/Thesaurus option on her tool bar. There is a Spelling check button on the tool bar but this does nothing.

When we log into the machine as admin (under which we installed office) we have the option available, when we log in as a Standard user, we have the option. When we log in as a restricted user.........Nothing :( When we look under Tool, Options.....the Spelling/Grammar Tab is greyed out too.

I can only presume this option is disabled due to some user permissions??

I have tried to add the restricted user to the permissions for the Programe files folder but this still has no effect.

Can any one help with this please?? How do I allow a restricted user to use the Spell checker?? Any idea why this is disabled??

It's a confirmed problem in Windows 2000. Check out Q257643 for the fix.
