    Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats is offered for Office 2000 and newer versions. Will this work with Office 97?

    That's a good question.

    If Office '97 was not compatible with the compatibility pack, I would assume it would give you a notice saying as much if you tried to install it?

    Odds are it won't work...But probably won't hurt to try and install it.
