The Office 365 Home Premium installation was stuck during installation. (from https://office.microsoft.com/MyAccount) When I tried to do the installation again, a window pops and says "Couldn't start Office installation" because "another installation is in progress. "

From the Windows 7 Control Panel > Programs and Features, I found a "Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium - en - us (version 15.0.4569.1507 ", I click Uninstall, but nothing happens.

I reboot the Windows 7 Hone Premium 64-bit into Safe Mode and retry. It's useless.

    (Windows Update is current.)

    What can I do?

Have you tried a system restore point?

After it was stuck, the PC spent 18 hours continuous monitoring in order to do Windows Update and numerous Restarts, which is painful. (It was not turned on for 6 months.)

I wish I don't need to use this last resort.

I sorted it out eventually. I found the Microsoft Support phone number at Upgrade my Trial page, where I don't need to give the Product Code, which is unavailable for trail product.

(Though I tried downloading Microsoft Fix-It, but since there's no Product Code for the Office 365 Trial, I can't use Fix-It.)

Microsoft Support needed to connect into the PC in order to fix it.

So you're good to go now?

Is you Office product subscription based?

    Yeah, good to go ahead.

    It's a trial with a one-month subscription free.

Office 365 is a very confusing name of bundled services - no more than providing a public-cloud-based document / data storage (to catch up with the iCloud from Apple, Dropbox, Box or other similar cloud storage), plus the synchronization functions to the very-thick full-suite clients (Windows-based Windows 7/8 PCs and / or Mac-based OS X devices)

Some documents created by Office 2013 products are still not directly readable by Office for Mac 2011, and vice versa. With Office 365, the business office with PCs and Macs is still not integrated. Disappointed, very.
