   We have a old computer that has word and excel 2000. We just purchchased a new computer with office 2010. Will the new version be able to read the 2000 files if we transfer them?

   Hi Jerry Dunn. Yes Office 2010 should be able to open the files that were created with Office 2000. The 2000 word files are .doc and the excel files are .xls which Office 2010 should be able to open those files with no problems.
