I have just tried to install MS Office 2000 on my windows XP Home edition. During the install I recieved a message saying "Abnormal program termination" and then in another window "Internal error 2755: Please contact Product Support for assistance" I have found MS knowledge base articles Q254841, Q217714 and Q220780 which did not help me. The following applications seem to be working: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, but Access and Outlook try to repair unsuccesfully. Anybody got any other ideas?

    Thankyou

I had the same problem just a week or more ago on a new HP XP machine. I got no help from Microsoft. I got none from HP either. HP simply dismissed me saying the Office 2000 was not written for XP and that I should buy the XP version.

The client, being a business person, had to have it up and running immediately so she purchased MSOffice XP. (More tribute to Bill.)

I got a similar response from MS, I now own a copy of Office XP (my pocket is still hurting) This seems to work fine
