MS outlook prompted me to 'compress' the Outlook folders (which I do from time to time). Next time I opened Outlook, one particularly large folder is missing all data after 1/17/11. That's probably about 300 emails from that one client. What can I do to recover them?

This question has come up many times. I bet if you search the the Email section of the site for the word Compress you'll find the info needed.

    Steve,

I searched this forum for 'compress' and found lots of situations, none of which apply. I didn't stop the compress during it's run.

I didn't find any *.bak files in the recycle bin.

The main email folder in which I archive client messages is just plain missing data from 1/17/11 forward.

It was interesting to learn about the 100 counter, but that's not a problem.

    Do U have another suggestion?

They should be .dbx not .bak files.

A little more reading here: http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm

Mr Bill, thanks for the additional information, but the point is

AFTER THE COMPRESS I HAVE ONLY HALF OF THE MESSAGES IN A SINGLE OE FOLDER.

How do I recover these lost messages?
