Need some help & guideance with OE6 running in XP home.

With 'some' incoming mail attachments, I receive the following warning.
"OE removed the following unsafe attachments in your mail: "NS mail-2.eml" or the like.
What does this warning mean & how can I adjust/stop it.

Each attachment that is removed appears acceptable to Norton AntiVirus!
I've searched 'Help' here & there, toured OE without success, searched Microsoft technical, purchased & read the idiots guide, sent several begging letters to Microsoft & Asked Jeeves.
    Regards
