The message could not be opened from outbox folder(ERROR#0x800420c8)

I got this cure after a Google search but it didn`t work , I still get the error message.

If you get this error, try this. In Outlook Express, go to Tools|Options|Send. Check if not checked - Send messages immediately. Or if checked, uncheck and recheck and click on Apply.

I ran the IE repair out of control panel. I didn`t know if that repired OE but decided it coudn`t hurt anything, Same results, the Error message still shows every time I mail an Email message. I don`t see what it hurts, if anything, it`s just annoying.

    Where to next?

    Thanks as usual.

The first thing to try: remove any messages from your Outbox that you want to preserve. Shut down OE, then do a Find for outbox.dbx and delete it.

I found that suggestion in many posts with a GROUPS.google.com search on these Search terms:
mvp message could not be opened from outbox folder (ERROR#0x800420c8)

    Plus many references to:

OLEXP: Err Msg: Message Could Not Be Opened from Outbox Folder
    http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q175/3/27.ASP

    Hey, Alice.
Piece o` cake I deleted the dbx files ,that didn`t help, but the remove duplicate accounts trick, cleaned that booger off , haven`t seen it since. As usual you had it figured.
Don`t s`pose you`d consider getting married? I`ve got a wife I`ve had for 53+ years but she doesn`t know anything about computers!!

    Thanks a bunch

Hey, that's great that the Microsoft article did the trick for you :)

I can't take too much credit, and certainly not enough for you to dump your wife for me  :D ..... anyway, my hubby might also object :D

A groups.google search using "mvp" as one of the search terms narrowed down the results to postings by Microsoft MVP's, the folks that really know their stuff.
