OE won't start after a period of inactivity. If I leave my PC long enough for my monitor to turn itself off, OE won't start until I run IE or NS first. Why is this? It starts straight away on bootup. It's annoying.

    Problem solved at last

After re-setting all my modem options to no avail, I've discovered where the prioblem was. ZONE ALARM has a setting called 'Atomatic Lock'. As soon as I disabled this everything reurned to normal.
Do Zone Labs know that this slows down re-connections to mail? (Not Web)

I'm sure ZA knows about this since that is the entire purpose of the automatic lock. Just disable the automatic locking. It really serves no purpose unless you need it for a specific reason. If you work in an office, for example, and get called away from your computer on short notice and don't know when you'll be back, then the lock may be useful to prevent anyone from having an extended period of time to attempt to hack into your computer.
Otherwise, it is not needed. ZA still works fine without the net access being locked and will still protect your computer.

    Thanks

Thanks Abraxas. I often wondered why this option was there. Now I know I doubt if I'll ever use it
