HELP!! Can any of you "smart people" figure out my "Picture problem" I have been having every since installing "XP" 12 months ago??

I Never have any problem if I want to 'attach' a picture...... But, if I want to "insert" Or "copy and paste" a picture from "My Photo Album ", it almost always may Not be seen by my recipients!!

The images usually show as OK in my "Sent message ", but I Know they didn't actually send if my message size is Only 3 KB!! I can see the sent images Because I have access to "My Photo Album" but you folks Do Not, of course!!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I follow the below 'instuctions' EXACTLY!!!
When I "Browse to find image file ", I will find it at a 'location' on my C drive, such as: C:\Documents and Settings\Dale\Desktop\My Photo Album(s)\AMERICA\Waving USA Flag1.gif . I obviously want to insert the image file named "Waving USA Flag1.gif ". BUT, my stupid OE program inserts the "location pathname" to the image instead of the desired image!!!

What is wrong??? Or do I just have to blame it on "XP "??
If I "copy and paste" from a web site into my e-mail, I have NO problem..... I Only have problems when "inserting" Or "copying" from "My Photo Album ".

I have also determined that I have this 'picture' problem whether "inserting" into a "Fw" message Or into a "New" message!!

Also please see my "Blue notes" below where my "boxes of missing images" are!

Any Help would be appreciated!! I hate to "not know what I am doing "!!!

    Dale

    from Outlook Express "Help ":
To insert a picture into a message....

Click the place in the message where you want the image to appear.
On the Insert menu, click Picture, and then click Browse to find the image file.
Enter Layout and Spacing information for the image file as needed.
    Notes

If you cannot select the Picture command, make sure HTML formatting is turned on by clicking the Format menu in the message window and then clicking Rich Text (HTML). A black dot appears by the command when it is selected.
If message recipients are not able to view your inserted images, on the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Send tab, click HTML Settings, and then make sure that Send pictures with messages is selected. Then resend your message.
To insert a background picture into your message, in the message window, on the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Picture. Click the Browse button to search for the file you want to use.

    Subject: STANDING WATCH......

These three flags were all "inserted ".

    Flag #1: C:\Documents and Settings\Dale\Desktop\My Photo Album(s)\AMERICA\
    !cid_009d01c3cb3d$93727020$a01aee41@default.gif <<< image rec'd from Nant.

    Flag #2: C:\Documents and Settings\Dale\Desktop\My Photo Album(s)\AMERICA\Waving USA Flag1.gif
    Flag #3: C:\Documents and Settings\Dale\Desktop\My Photo Album(s)\AMERICA\Waving USA Flag1.gif

The above three 'flags' were all "copied" and yielded the exact same "location pathnames" as shown above, Instead of the desired "image files ".
    = !cid_009d01c3cb3d$93727020$a01aee41@default
Copied directly from Nant's original e-mail. You will probably see this image!!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    = C:\Documents and Settings\Dale\My Documents\My Pictures\Waving USA Flag1.gif

    = C:\Documents and Settings\Dale\My Documents\My Pictures\
!cid_01e501c3a42e$67761a70$9884d018@dalecomp.gif <<< You will probably See this Flag!! Do you see why I think this flag is "prettier" than Nant's original flag?

The above two 'flags' are from a special XP folder titled "My Pictures" which I have rarely used. Maybe I need to put my entire 2,053 image "My Photo Album" into this special XP "My Pictures" folder!!??

Any helpful Comments or Suggestions?? Dale Heath

I read through your Post twice and am still not sure what you think you have as a problem.

First, when you are in a Folder, such as your Pictures, or any other folder with pictures, right click and send to mail receipent, you will not get the Picture displayed on the Email. It will be shown in the "Attached" part of your email and should you want to see for sure you have the right picture, click the attachment. I think that is the way it is supposed to be. After the mail is sent you will see the picture on the email.

As far as copying and pasting a picture from another file, right click the picture and select "sent to....." will be easier then copying and pasting.

    Am I missing something?

First, in OE click tools>options and then click the send tab. Under "mail sending format" click the html settings button and make sure there's a checkmark where it says "send pictures with messages ".
Are you saying here that you can send pictures from this folder but not from the My Photo Albums one? If so, what program do you use for the photo albums. Is it possible that the files in that folder are only a pointer to the actual file and the actual pic file is located somewhere else on the drive? Right click on one of them and check the properties of it.
