OE 6.0 Spell checking halted

The error message: Spell checking was halted. Do you want to send? showed up when I used Outlook Express in my new, XP computer. Microsoft acknowledges the problem. But there are several causes.

Before you attempt to add the "\" to a subkey in the Registry, try first to identify that three files are in your proofing folder. MS tells you about these possibilities [search for spell check halted] but offers no solutions or sources for missing or damaged files.

Depending on one’s configurations, files transferred by the wizard, and use of the new search interface, you may find the files you need in a remote location, as I did.

Yes. that's the most complete one. I followed other links, but they were related to older versions of Windows and OE.
