The other day I started a download that was 133 mb. I have 56k so I used a downoad manager (DAP) to download it over time--instead of one big download. It got finished about 10 minutes ago, sort of... I waited by the computer until the estimated time counter reached zero. After that the download said it was 100% done, but the estimated time counter went to 100 hours and now it's downloading over the 133.25 MB. After waiting for about 2 minutes the estimated time went to 200 hours, and it's still downloading over the limit. It says that 134.01mb of 133.25mb completed. Now the estimated time left is at 296 hours left. Has anyone had this happen to them before, and what exactly is it downloading? There is nothing left to download.

    sigh...

After just letting it sit for a couple of minutes after posting, the download finally finished. But now it has alot of other errors. First of all, after it finished, I got an error telling me that the files couldn't be merged, and then I saw the icon for the zipped download on my desktop, but I clicked on that and it said the file did not appear to have a valid archive (I have winzip to unzip files). Does anyone know how I can get around these problems and get the download to work without re-downloading it?

Your download is corrupted/has missing parts or was not assembled correctly by the download manager.

The best you can possibly hope for is about a 7.5 hr download. This is with an average download rate of 5 kilobytes/second. Even nis using Download Accellerator, you will not be able to download faster than your current connection speed to the web server. Five KB/sec average is real good for a 56k modem and the average will probably be much less over a 7.5 hr time period.

I suggest you download during off-peak hrs, just before going to bed.

I think i'll actually leave it on over night--and set DAP to auto shut down after download. I usually get 5.56 kb a second with my downloads--but after a while it goes between 4 and 5 kbs.
