Outlook X - version that came with XP...?

I thought this might be a security issue and posted there, but maybe OX problem, not sure.

I did a short search in this thread, but came up with nothing similar, but will try the search engine also.

This may or may not be a security problem, but it does need to be addressed.

    I am now using Gmail.

I had been using Outlook X for over 10 years using same isp, and over time noted that I was not receiving all emails addressed to me. Emails my wife received with my address in the CC line, for example, and I did not recieve; or emails I sent to me and were not recieved.

I also verified this by sending emails to self using various other computers and having certain others send me emails.

I advised the isp and they could not solve the problem. In fact, after that, I believe they simply ignored me.

What would cause this? Any thoughts?

When I tell people this happens, they look at me like I am dim...

Is your wife using the exact same ISP when the above happens.

My best guess is that some people that mail to you have been Blacklisted. You and or them should be able to go your ISP's web site and reqest that they be made exceptions/taken off the list.

I just switched from MSN to Comcast as my ISP. Comcast's "SmartZone" communications center is a real turkey. If you're using that ISP, your missing mails might be Comcast related rather than Outlook Express.

I'm looking at alternatives to Comcast's e-mail system, while remaing with them for ISP, phone and cable TV.

We also had a problem with Verizon with MSN. Verizon declared a particlar UK server to be a source of Spam and blacklisted the entire server. Four family members in the UK used it. We only found out about it when I questioned Verizon. I think VZ got smacked with a class action lawsuit for not telling their customers that they'd backlisted the server.
