    Hi:

Why does strange things happen ?

    We open Outlook Express.

It says we have 17 mails.

But for the first time ever only one shows up !

Usually we could see all and select .

Now we only got the last one.

How can we go back to viewing all the mails ?

Is it always 17 even after you click on Send/Receive? Start/Search/All Files and Folders and type in Outlook Express then click on search. There will be several things that it finds. Click on the FOLDER Outlook Express C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Local Settings\Application Data\etc. Then find the Inbox.dbx and right click on it and delete it. The next time that you open OE, it will be rebuilt. If every time you open OE and can only see 1 message and it says that there are more, go to Tools/Options and take the check out of the box that says Send and Receive messages at startup and click Apply, OK. This is in the General tab under Send/Receive Messages. Now do what you need to do with the one message you see and close down OE and open it back up and see if you see the next one. If so, do this till you have seen them all. Then delete the Inbox.dbx and go back and put the check in the box to Send/Receive at startup if you want.

Check to see if they are hidden somehow. In OE, click view>current view and make sure that show all messages is selected. If it is, perhaps you have some kind of message rule in place that's moving them to a different folder or some such thing. It's sort of a long shot but worth checking out. Click tools>message rules>mail and see if there's anything there that might somehow be causing this.
