O.E. not remembering password

    New XP Home rebuild using O.E. 6. When connecting to the mail server for the client the password is not being retained. Keeps prompting for password. When I look in the account settings password keeps disappearing from settings. Internet Explorer NOT having the same problem. Have run out of ideas on this one. Any ideas ???

    A search on passwords would have given you quite a number of posts that relate to (and offer solution for) this issue.

    Much appreciated. I did however find on the 7th page the ms article that apparently covers this problem. Am surprised this is a problem seeing as the machine was built with this user in the process of the build. Wonder if this is something that will be fixed in sp2 whenever that comes out this year.
