Currently have 2 WinNT4 domains. Each domain represents a separate independent company. Occassionally, users in one domain collaborate on work being done by the other company. No trusts exist between the domains so user accounts are created and permissions given to allow the collaboration to take place... One company wants to go to a Win2k domain ASAP and install exchange 2k. The other company wants to hold off for .Net server and upgrade next summer. Collaboration on projects will definitely be increasing so both companies want to end up being in the same forest.

Would appreciate any comments on how to best meet these needs...

Also, is it possible to create a Win2k domain parallel to the WinNT4 domain and simply migrate the user acounts from nt4 to win2k...? If so, how?

Why not just upgrade your servers to 2K on one domain. Maybe even retain the NT4 PDC/BDC structure for a while. Then you could move to pure 2K-AD when you wanted to. The only real issue I could see would be to make sure the users who needed to work both domains could use DNS.

As for the specifics, take a look Here where I asked for help in doing pretty much what you want to do and got some excellent advice.
