    Hi all!

I now our new WS2003 machine up and running, transferred data and set up a domain and users today. The owner wanted a different domain name, and I did as he requested, but now, here's the problem: I can't create a trust between the two domains (NT and WS2003), since we are using Small Business server, and when I try to manually join our workstations to the new domain, this happens:
"A Domain controller for the domain xxx could not be contacted. Ensure that the domain name is typed correctly.

The following error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain C2I.LOCAL:

The error was: "DNS name does not exist. "
    (error code 0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR)

The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.C2I.LOCAL"

I can see the whole network from the WS2003 machine, and I can ping it from other computers, but cannot see (from other computers) the shared drive I set up on the 2003 machine, and the new domain is not found. When I look in my network places, and in Microsoft Network, I only see the old domain. Any ideas why, and how to fix it? Many thanks in advance!

Here's what I have done before. It's very tedious and would be out of the question with more than say 30 clients.
Create a local profile for the user on their local machine.

Download a copy of Profile wizard from Forensit http://www.forensit.com/index.htm

Copy the NT domain profile from the domain user to the local profile.
Take the machine back to a work group member. (back it out of a domain)
Then join the 03 domain and copy the local profile back to the new domain.

Follow the instructions carefully for Profile Wizard. They can be very confusing.
Make sure system restore is on and current so if you dork it up you can fall back because with out a restore point once you back out of the domain or accidentally copy the new clean profile over top of the old it's good night Irene.
