I've installed FlashPlayer 7 at least 5 times just as it instructed me to, but I still only get the "Q "uikTime logo when I go to a site that needs to call FP7.

    Hep Me, :(

An additional comment. Is the npswf32.dll file in the plugins folder of NS7.x?
I found out that more than once the Flash program failed to drop the .dll file in the plugins folder. There is more than that, but that is minimum.
If the embedded Quicktime logo appears, it is possiblew that the file associations are not correct. In such case, IE would fail as well.
But, even one example is necessary.

    STILL no Positive Results

1st of all, thanks for prompt reply. Here's what I know.

    1.) Example of faulty website: "http://www.remo.com/ "

2.) I did uninstall FP7 as a Custom uninstall where I deleted ALL files.
Rebooted, re-installed app, tried again, same results.

3.) The npswf32.dll IS in the plug-ins folder.

4.) I went to the test site and failed miserably.

    THIS doesn't look good.

    Tanx Again,

Could you tell us what is faulty about the website which you gave?
I have the golden opportunity to see where Flash is involved, since my NS7.2 has Flash blocked on design, while Firefox does not. It is not so interesting with the home page, but it is very clear that Flash is needed for the drum samples . If I activated Flash I can see the drums and hear the sounds.
I made an observation about file associations, and you did not reply to it, so I don't know if Quicktime may have taken over, at one time. How about the Sundance Festival site ? It is all Flash.
I don't know why you are having the problem. It may be fixed by simple file associations, or it may require to work with Quicktime first. In quicktime:Edit
    |Preferences|Quicktime Preferences|File Types|Misc.format|uncheck Flash Media if checked.

    gplea,

Did you uninstall FlashPlayer using the uninstall file here:
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_15511#remove

This Support Page walks you thru several workarounds to try in the event FlashPlayer doesn't work.

When you mention "Custom uninstall" I'm not sure what you're referring to, and hopefully it is the uninstall file which you uninstalled from the Macromedia site, as referenced above...

The drum site works for me.

    Nothing...

    Ramona,

Still not working. I used your link from Macromedia to uninstall with same results. The "Custom" install I was referring to was from Win2k Control Panel Add/Remove Apps. The custom ask to select/not select ea. individual file. After I ran your uninstall I used IE6 to go to the Remo site and it immediately prompted me with a MS Certificate box, which I OK'd, then it ran fine.

    Go Figure?

    Problem Fixed...Another Problem Now

OK. I downloaded NS8 and that fixed the Flash problem, but now when I click on an e-mail link in NS8 it brings up Outlook instead of Messenger. NOT GOOD! Also, I'm not finding anywhere in NS8 that I can switch this. Is it me Ramona, or does NS keep taking more and more customization away from the users with ea. version?

    Tanx,

    gplea,

Check your Windows Settings Add/Remove Programs. For "Choose a default e-mail program ", what have you selected there? Note, that this isn't a Netscape setting.

I would have recommended Firefox and Thunderbird, or Mozilla 1.7.8, had I known you were going to update your browser.

    Everything's Cool

I finally just uninstalled ALL NS stuff, ran a Registry Cleaner & Defragger, re-installed NS7.2 and everything worked fine. I also copy the ***.slt folder in the default folder to another safe partition before I delete all that stuff on the C: drive. That's a GREAT safe, simple way to not lose all those configs, etc.

    Tanx for ALL da help,
    gplea :D
