After upgrading to XP SP2 Netscape 7.2 won't execute. I tried reloading twice from CD.

Since I also use NS mail I am in deep stuff. Clicking on the Icon or runnng the exe gives a momentary hourglass but I never get anything more then that. I've tried running Mail, the Profile Manager, the Address Book, even IM and none run.

When I start the install process, I get a message that there are some files from other parties and that it will remove them during installation. The installation process gives no errors.

I tried installing the typical and the full program - both act the same.

    Cal,

If the Netscape 7.2 Profile Manager won't open, then you may be experiencing the "installer bug ". If windows is reinstalled, a registry restored, or in your case SP2 installed, the registry entry that tells Netscape 7.1 or 7.2 and Mozilla 1.4 and higher where to find the GRE folder, is sometimes removed.

    Try this:

    Uninstall Netscape 7.2
    Next:
    Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Mozilla.org\GRE folder
Delete the 1.7.2_2004080415 folder, which is the GRE folder for Netscape 7.2.
If there is a 1.4f_2003062408 folder listed, delete that folder also. This would be a leftover from Netscape 7.1.

    Reboot your PC
Reinstall Netscape 7.2, or better yet, Mozilla 1.7.8, or Firefox and Thunderbird. Netscape 7.2 has some security issues that haven't been addressed, and most likely won't be addressed.
