    To Ramona or Alice

I'm not sure to whom I should write but one of you told me to write back the next time my NS 4.79 shurtdown error windows appear. Now I cannot find the last messages posted something to me re specific DLLs.

Errors reoccured last evening. NS closes/shuts down completely or so it seems when two error windows appear in tandem. This time I clicked Close before I remembered to have a look at the Details. The messages always are: This program has performed an illegaloperation and will be shut down...etc, etc.

Details reveals in part that an invalid page fault has occurred in RPCT4.DLL and goes on to give a raft of number strings or whatever.

This seems to be one of the Dlls earlier referenced. I have a copy of that last message to me on my computer but haven't yet found it...even with FIND. ;-( I'm looking with my blind eye while I can't see out the other!

Sorry. If and when I find it, I'll be back. NS is fine today.

    Thanks.

    Hi Welt,

The next time the two errors occur, will you write them down and relay them to us? If they are: RPCRT4.DLL and PR3240.DLL exit errors, then read HERE.

If this isn't what's happening, let us know.

I believe you have confirmed my suspicions. Read the info on the two errors, and then relax. It's a bug in Netscape. I get those two errors on occasion.

I have noted that I can usually avoid them, if I first close my Newsgroups, and then go to the Inbox. Then completely close Messenger before closing Communicator. You might try this method and see if it helps.
