    Hi,

I have a problem that more or less is driving my crazy, which I hope someone can help me out with.

I currently run on the high settings in Privacy/Cookies under Internet Options and everytime IE is preventing a cookie being set, a brief and by now, very annoying notification sound is heard.

I would like to permantly disable this sound and I have looked everywhere for how to do this but in vain...

Please, if you have any ideas on how to do this, do share them with me.

    Thanks!

    /Lighto

Go to your sounds in the control panel. There probably is a sound scheme set up to be used. You may have to preview the sound there to find the culprit, then disable.

  3. to hide this advert.

As far as I can see there are no sounds associated with IE (XP Pro + IE 6)

Are you running the Google toolbar by any chance? - this makes a sound when a popup is blocked. Can be disabled under More Options.

    finally found it...

    Thanks guys,

you made me aware that this had probably nothing to do with IE itself.

It was Pest Patrol, running in the background which, when automatically deleting the cookies, made the sound... Luckily for me the sound could be disabled.

Finally I got some peace of mind while surfing the web!

    Regards,
    /Lighto
