I have hide inactive icons checked in Properties, but for some reason they no longer disappear and the little arrow is missing. Any suggestions?

In the Taskbar Properties window, Notification tab, click the Customize button and make sure the correct option is enabled each icon. Even if you have hide inactive icon checked, enabling "Always show" for individual icons will override that setting.

The little arrow isn't displayed when there are no more icons other than what's already showing.

    Miz,

Thanks, but I have hide when inactive checked for all. I see what you mean about the arrow not showing since it is showing all of the icons, including the inactive ones, specifically, Audio Manager and Safely Remove Hardware.
