As stated in an earlier post of mine, "The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could" I resolved an email issue, but in doing so I had to un-check "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" on incoming server pop3 110 and out going server SMTP 587 Outlook 2003

Is having my mail servers set up this way, putting me in a big security risk situation.

If I end up removing the accounts, I take it I will have to create separate PST files so I don't lose all content in the in-boxes and sub folders.

Not really. Are you sending state secrets? Only if someone is monitoring/recording your internet traffic they could possibly 'sniff' out any plain text passwords used for your email.

Not much of a risk. Anyway, SSL traffic can be easily sniffed and then easily cracked (decrypted) using free utilities. Such action requires some form of wire tapping though, either physically tapping the wire or via wifi. Or by a spoofed URL using a "man in the middle" attack.
