Not really sure what the problem is.. first the time showing on my computer is always off. I set it, it falls behind. Seems that everything I do, online or off line, everything is "jumpy ". Kind of stops and goes. I just installed a new cd writer, but don't think that has anything to do with the time being off all the time. Could be an internal battery??? I am really confused.

    Thanks todi777

    Welcome to the boards.

Computers are notoriously bad time keepers. I have to set mine every day by a few seconds.

How old is your computer? I have one that is 4 years now and no battery probs. yet.

Your computer being "jumpy" could be getting too many cobwebs in the form of too many temp files both regular and internet. Also could be an actual cobweb problem inside your case. And the ever present virus or spyware activity.

Are you running any virus protection? Spyware protection like ADAware?

How about Scandisc and defrag? Done any of that stuff lately?

    Done all that....

Yea, I have done all that you mentioned. Defrag, scan disk......etc. My system is probably about 4 years old also. Yes, I am running Norton 2001 and it updates automatically. Checks email and all that. I don't think it is a virus. Not really sure. What it is.

The clock thing is weird. Set it and it keeps getting later. It is an hour behind now. Who knows. I don't.

Thanks for your info. Got anymore, send me a note.
