Not Receiving Thunderbird E-Mail

Hi All, ............. Using TB 24.1.0 and my problem is that expected e-mail does not show. This is not strictly true since mail sent to myself does appear and mail from my daughter whose computer is next to mine also appears. Conversely, mail from a daughter in the Atlanta area never shows. That several were sent have been confirmed by telephone.

By expected mail I mean mail sent periodically from organizations such as How-to Geek, Ron Hazelton , and Windows Secrets. Requested responses from friends never appear.

My attempts at solutions resulted in uninstalling TB and reinstalling it twice, a new profile, and turning off Junk mail controls. Am I missing something? Please let me hear your suggestions.

 

This may sound like a dumb question, but can you locate the missing emails online? (yahoo, hotmail, etc.)
