    Hey all,

I just got a prompt when trying to run a program...

"Not enough memory to run this program, close some other applications and try again "

whats causing this as I dont see it with any other app im running or opening.

Tha program I am trying to run is called WormGuard .. its a script sentury and runs silently in the back ground till it finds some thing suspicious or I tell it to look.

I asked it to scan a file for me and that when I got the prompt..
anyone know whyats causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    My suggestion:
Check you have enough disk freespace. Scandisk, defrag, etc.

    Uninstall and reinstall the program.

Windows may(?) be having trouble addressing your 512mb of RAM.

You might also want to run an updated virus scan.

You can also download Adaware and scan your system for Spyware.

You can also take a look at your startup programs. Go to start, run and type msconfig. Click on the startup tab. This is a list of programs that load everytime you start your computer. Go here to read about what is safe to get rid of.

Some programs are know to have memory leaks.
Try this, before you open the program right click on My Computer and then click on the Performance tab. Note your system resources. Then open the program and go back in and see what your resources are.

    Hey There

    Hi all,

Thanks I found out it is not my system but in the progam I am running. WG is a script sentury and runs off a hook componant.
Unfortunatly this particular version of WG is the latest, and the builders of the program know of the problem and tell us that all is good ... that our protection is still up and running :)

The Hook compnant is microsoft created and they have no control over this known problem and are in the process of fixxing that in the new version 4 coming soon to a local dealer near you :)

    Thanks for the help,

    Best Regards,
    FireDancer ;)
