    Hello All,
Since I upgraded to Netscape 6 a while ago and now that I've upgraded to Netscape 7, I cannot see buttons or places where you enter information. For example, the subject line above is what I'm calling an "information space." Somewhere you type something in. I just have to click around where I think it "should" be, and one my pointer turns into a vertical line, I know I'm in the right spot. A nother example of where I run into problems is when your filling something out, say an application. All of the spaces you're supposed to fill in, I cannot see where they are.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but, I would very much appreciate any help on solving this.
    Thanks

Welcome to the Forum Sampson Little!

    Hi Sampson,

My first thought is that you have not enabled Java. Check in Edit | Preferences | Advanced.

Did you completely uninstall Netscape 6 before installing Netscape 7?

    Hi Ramona,
No, I did not completely instal Netscape 6 before installing 7. I checked to ensure the enable Java button was clicked, and sure enough it was. I was wondering if your or anyone else in the group had any other ideas I could try?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sampson Little,

What I would do, is uninstall Netscape 6. But before you uninstall the browser,
use the small patch found HERE.

After applying the patch, then uninstall Netscape 6 through the Add/Remove applet. If this doesn't bring joy, post back.

    Hi Ramona,
I installed the suggested patch, but, Netscape 6 is no longer on my system. I guess when I installed Netscape 7, it removed Netscape 6. Thus, Netscape 6 is not in the "Add Remove Programs" selection area. I suppose I could remove Netscape 7 and try to install it again, but, I don't want to lose emails, etc., is there a way to save these and import them back in once I reinstalled Netscape 7? Do you think this suggestion would work anyway? Thanks again for your ideas.

    Hi Sampson Little,

Yes, I suggest that you start from scratch. Do a "Clean Install ".

You won't lose your Profile information, if you back up the Profiles Folder before uninstalling/installing Netscape 7. Create a backup folder, then copy the Profiles Folder and place it there.

Please post back with any further questions. If you don't completely understand the Clean Install guidelines, let us know.

    Hi Ramona,

Well, I completely uninstalled (using the clean uninstall procedure) and then downloaded and reinstalled Netscape 7.02. But, there doesn't seem to be any differences. I am still not able to see most "information spaces" or "buttons." Might it be something with my computer? Everything works fine within Internet Explorer, so, I'm not sure. After comparing the two programs on the same page with info. spaces, the difference is Int. Explorer has a black box around everything whereas Netscape does not. Thus, you can't really see where things should be.

    Any other ideas?
    Thanks very much.
