    Hi mollyo
Welcome to the boards. Any chance it says "win32 application "...rather than "windows32application? Do the attachments have a particular extension......such as .pdf?

    Hi mollyo
Thank you for the note...but if we keep it on the board, others can hop in and help, or learn from your post.
Have you done a recent and updated virus scan? If not, please try the free one at housecall....to eliminate that as a possibility.

Let's see, email attachment with MS logo, like a butterfly? or a little yellow open box with what appears to be a white desktop? I am not aware of MS sending out email attachments. Then you get a message, which by the wording seems a fake error message, to placate you when nothing seems to happen. I would say to get an outside virus scan as posted above.

Mollyo? Can you please click on the reply button at the bottom of this page? We'd dearly love to help.... and you'd get a larger pool to draw from, if you leave this on the boards.

    Hi again mollyo
Again, if you'd just click on the "post reply" button, at the bottom of this page, it would be greatly appreciated.
The virus that was found, doesn't have a destructive payload. It's a sort of prank. You can read about it here. That's not to say that there aren't more infections yet to be discovered? Where does the virus scanner say it found this virus? It usually points to a place on your computer that it's resident.
I'm still wondering if it's .pdf files that you're unable to view.
It would help greatly if you gave us exact error messages.

Mollyo.......do you have Powerpoint? If you don't... you'll need to install a viewer for it.

Powerpoint comes as parrt of an Office Program.

A .pps extension would open with the PowerPoint Viewer, or it should.

    Install Power Point !

    Hi there Daisy and Mark
I just did what was suggested downloaded Power Point, and still no go ? I can't figure it out as I am sure I used to be able to open these emails, I purchased my computer same time as a girlfriend, same computer etc., and she does not have a problem, in fact I send these emails to her and she can open them and she tell me what they were. Go figure. Unless power point 'viewer' is different ?
