Hi, I am having a problem uninstalling/reinstalling parts of Norton System Works 2002,
I cant get parts of it to run, uninstall, or reinstall, I must have accidentally deleted some crucial files, and if I try to uninstall any of it it doesnt seem to work, and if I try to reinstall it tells me that I have to uninstall the previous files first, what a nightmare!!!
I'm in a Norton System Works loop!!!
Should I just hit "format C" or should I get Michael Hutchence belt!

    Any clues most appreciated.

    DeeTee,

Welcome to the board! Try this link to see if it helps. After using Add/Remove, you will need to use their SYMClean program. I've used it before and it works to clear things out so that you can reinstall.

    OK,
I ran the file, but all it found was the Norton Antivirus, it didnt find the Ghost, Clean Sweep, or Utilities that are the elements that seem to be stuffed up, and once again the installation told me that I would have to uninstall these before I could install, but I was able to reinstall the Antivirus part....
The LiveUpdate wouldnt run and....well it looks like I have stuffed the system beyond a novices repair job...****!

I believe your best route is to visit this URL . Your Version is listed below the top part. It is a manual process of getting into the registry. If you are careful, you can do the complete uninstall, start over and it should be fine.

I used this route once and was successful. Hope the same for you.

    Chris,

Thanks for the update and glad to hear that things are working again! Uninstalling can be tricky sometimes.
