Norton question

    I have Windows XP on my computer. About two or three times a day I get for no good reason a balloon-type screen which states "Norton Status Good. Installed Programs Are Working Properly ". This screen is a nuisance. How would I get rid of this screen permanently? Thank you very much,

    Hello abx,

    What verson of Norton? Is this a suite? If NIS2006, I think Symantec is aping McAfee's Control Center. If so, look around in there for options concerning messages.

    i deleted my norton i use avgfree you can close the status window, go to the programe options or right click on icon in bar and select disable

    its in the security centre somewhere.
