    Yet another issue from me.

Upon restart, my PC goes through the usual process. In the start up, it gets to Norton Internet security and stops for 2 minutes. The whole PC comes to a stand still. Norton remains disabled for 2 minutes at least. After this time, everything becomes OK.

Can anyone explain why? And recomended a fix?

    Blinky,

Go through your 'Options' menu for NIS and see if there is a 'scan' of some type running at boot. The other possibility is there are a lot of programs autostarting. Go to 'Start', 'Run', type in msconfig, hit Enter, go to the 'Startup' tab and see how many programs are listed and which ones can be disabled (not needed at startup). A very good reference for what you need and what you don't can be found HERE .
