    Hello!

Does anyone know what would cause Norton to lockup and stop Microsoft Outlook from working? It works on the laptop, but on the pc it caused a big lockup.

    Thanks.

    Hi Karen,

Not sure if I can help, but maybe a couple more details will help. What product are you using? Does just Norton's lockup, or is the system locking up? Any other details about what is going on would be helpful.

    Mike,

    Hi - thanks for replying.

All I can tell you is that the system is Windows XP for Office. I work for a friend and I e-mail his Quick Books backup to him after I do his accounting. He was not able to get the e-mail and a computer person told him Norton was "locking up" Microsoft Outlook. He advised trying AVG free edition.

AVG free edition did not work for me and apparently not for him as he is still not getting my backup on his pc.

This is all I know for now. I will check for further details, but my boss may not know. If not, I don't know how else to help.

Is it possible that it is another problem besides Norton?

    Karen

This could be a security events per Outlook or Norton and or a combination of both. Before you send out clients QB file(s), zip them up as one file. If Outlook/Norton continue to lock up, have your client retrieve his files via a WEB view to whoever is hosting his email / server. (unless this is a corporate type IMAP email server). If that is the case, does your client have any other WEB based email accounts ... example Yahoo, Gmail ... send zipped file to one of them accounts.
