norton internet security

    i just downloaded norton internet security and now i can't access any of my files none of them will work it says file not found and no amin rights i don't know what any of this means can u help me? i have windows xp

    nahnepos--Presume you mean downloaded and installed NIS.
    Can you get to Control Panel|Add/Remove Programs and uninstall?
    If so, I suggest you do it. Hope you retain the ability to reinstall without paying again, like recording the Product Key code.
    Now do things work again?
    I do not run NIS, but I suspect you created some setting to cause this.
    Perhaps on a reinstall, take more time on reviewing the various choices on each window.
    A variation on the theme would be a System Restore .

    i can not get to control panel or system restore and i would not like to reinstall just unistall it

    Suspect you got an infection download with the notron's download. That's been a problem. If you think so also, download hijackthis from this link and put it in a new folder named C:\HJT, run it to save a log and paste that into your next post.

    i did what you told me to but i cannot run it the error message "file not found" comes up again so i cannot run it
