I have just installed NORTON'S INTERNET SECURITY on my new laptop w/ WINDOWS XP . After a couple days, I could not enter the web via JUNO.COM. I connect and can access mail only. It won't go to JUNO'S homepage- I get the "Can't find page" and the tray name says "can't find server ". I can't use Internet Explorer to jump to any site. I uninstalled NORTON "S and I still have the same problem. To complicate matters, I just uninstalled PROPEL ACCELATOR by USADATANET as well before finding that internet explorer/browser with JUNO was no longer working. I can't get help from any of these people with out paying 1.95/ minute!! USADATANET told me to uninstall NORTON'S . I've spent many hours trying to understand the conflict. HELP. Many many thanks to the pros!

Try two things and post back with your results.

both will be done from a command window so
start~run~cmd and when the ugly black window with white writing comes up

    - ping juno.com and if that has problems
    - ping -a 64.136.21.200

I doubt Norton is your problem, and now you have no IS if you are online. (If you can get email, you are online.)

Have you tried a system restore yet?

Thanks but I tried that and JUNO wouldn't run. I believe I've done too many uninstalls lately- uninstalled Norton's and Propel
Accelerator by USADATANET so using the backup feature won't work properly. I've since found that while using my older descktop computer, that still has the PROPEL ACCELERATOR SOFTWARE installed, that if I operate JUNO with the acceleration software turned off, I have the same problem !! Have you any experience with modem accelerator software? Thanks

Propel Accelerator vs. Win XP Internet Explorer 6.0

I believe that uninstalling PROPEL ACCELERATOR by USADATANET messes up Internet Explorer in Windows XP version so that JUNO can not use it properly to get web page access. I'm using my older computer to access web(PROPEL ACC. has not been uninstalled yet.) Is there a way of reinstalling Internet Explorer only with out messing up the rest of my system? Thanks for your help- WINDOWS BBS is the best!!

    propel accelerator software w/ XP

Uninstalling Propel ACC. by USADATANET will cause IE6.0 to become unresponsive in Win XP while using JUNO as a provider!!
I requested from USADATANET, that they send me the program to reinstall to see if I could then access the web and it worked!! But the service is $4.95/ month and doesn't enhance web access enough in my opinion to warrent additional monthly fees. BUT I AM SEARCHING FOR AN UNINSTALL METHOD THAT WON'T CRASH IE6.0/JUNO OPERATION. This reinstall solution was after many hours of other attempts to solve and the only other possibility seems to be to a TOTAL Rebuild with the HP restore disks which means many hours of rebuilding the current software and files.

Thansk for any input on this matter!! John
