I'm trying to create a complete backup of my hard drive to a CD using NG 2003. The program starts OK but even at initial start up, after Windows XP closes and DOS opens, I'm unable to respond to DOS commands using my keyboard.

This doesn't prevent the process from going forward which it does until the initial CD is filled and the program asks to respond with OK to load the next disc. At this point, typing 'O' for Ok produces nothing. The program simply hangs waiting for a response which I'm unable to give it. As a result, I shut off my system and restart it to get out of NG2003.

Even then it restarts in DOS and I'm still unable to input the requested commands to continue in DOS or revert to Windows XP. By default, however, the system restarts in Windows XP.

My problem seems to be that my keyboard commands aren't recognized when in DOS. Any idea what the problem and solution is?

Do you have a wireless or USB keyboard? If so the drivers for it may not be loaded when you are in DOS. You may have to hook up a PS2 keyboard to be able to use it in DOS.
