For several years we've used IE as our browser, but it's becoming increasingly paranoid and very slow in some sites. I get a warning "This site is attempting to transfer script which could make IE very slow ". It already is very slow. When I try to use the "yes/no" option the whole thing hangs up and needs a re-boot.

I've got so fed up, I decided to download Google Chrome to try. I'm impressed with its speed and apparent immunity things which get IE so ticked off. The only snag is that Chrome and Norton Security seem to be at odds.

I'm on Comcast, which proivides Norton as part of its package. A feature of Norton I make good use of is "Autofill ", which fills in the username and password on sites that I can choose, which are fairly innocuous. I don't use it for things like on-line banking and bill-paying. It works fine with IE, but, even though I've made Chrome my default browser, it doesn't play. Comcast customer service said that changing the default browser would fix it, but it didn't. It still works on IE, even though that's not the default any more. Norton customer support is totally uncommunicative.

    Any ideas, folks?

I would disable the Norton function since both browsers you mentioned will also Autofill.
