I have some video clips with sound and have been trying to find a
program that will let me normalize the sound across all these clips while
    keeping the video as is.

Lots of programs for doing a normalize of sound but havent found one for video w/sound....

    Any suggestions?

    thanks,
    savagcl

What video editor are you using.
Avidemux is a good free editor and also has command line usage. There's a switch for normalizing audio. See its wiki.

i have tried several of the free ones, mostly converters but a couple editors.
While the converters work well, they don't normalize any clips much less
    across clips.

If you want program names, i'll post tonight, working now.

    thanks for the reply,

    I've tried these -

    Any Video Converter
    Format Factory
    Free Video Converter
    Video Pad Editor

Maybe i'm missing something but these seem pretty straight forward...

    thanks,
