[Non stop popups and loss of web access]

On my computer the symantec anti virus showed up....how do I get rid of it? In add or remove programs it wont let me remove it.........there are non stop pop ups and I cant access the web(Im on a friends comp now). I am desperate.

Are you sure about the name?

Download Security Check from HERE, and save it to your Desktop.

* Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
* Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
* A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Please observe Posting Rules #3 - Meaningful Subject - I have adjusted your title.

You might wonder why a good subject is important. First it will act as a 'filter' for people that might be interested in reading your post. With just a subject of "Need Help with my computer ", quite a few members will just skip your post. Furthermore, it would force one of our staff members to read your post & decide on the appropriate title. This takes time away from answering posts.

Another reason why we ask for appropriate titles is that this makes the WindowsBBS search more useful. If you post "I receive an error STOP: 0x00000050 after the desktop loads ", a user doing a search on the "STOP: 0x00000050" error will most likely find your post in his search results & may be able to solve his problem with the solution (you hopefully received).

Using a good subject line is also helpful to Internet search engines (Google, MSN and others), it helps them to properly index your post, so when another user is searching for an answer to the same (or similar) problem/issue he may come across your post.
