For sometine now, each time that I make a computer backup, a caption advises me "Backup was not completed due to file not being found ". Error: I:\New movie films could not be located. Error: 0x80070002. File I\:New movie films, was removed some months ago and also any reference to it. Since then a complete reformat computer to factory setting was carried out. I have searched the computer and hard drive for possible left reference, none can be found. Hard drive in question was reformatted. Is there a solution to error? I am using Windows7 Home edition 64bit, and IE 9.

What are you using for a backup program?

HD formatted after the backup result. Back up is stored on HD [H], this HD not recently formatted.

Wonder if there is something on there that is weird and causing this problem.
Maybe try formating the drive and wiping it clean and then do a backup???

MrBill, carried out your suggestion by format of HD [H] and then carried out a backup of HD [H}. Same error shows as stated prior.

Arie, I carried out your suggestion too, content prooved to be to hard for me to follow. I followed one part by locating computers Libraries>Videos>Showed three locations. One location, showed as New movie films (Empty) I:\. Clicking Videos again showed New movie films I:\. Right click on this entry and selected remove. This cleared entry in question. Made a further Backup of the computer, on this occasion the Backup completed without any reference to the problem error. I think it is safe to assume that error has now been resolved. I thank you and Mr Bill for assistance, most appreciated.

WARNING!! If a similar error heading appears on your computer, a format of the HD that hold all previous backups will be erased, leaving no restore facilities if your computer becomes pear shape or corrupted. Backup does as in my case cleared the error defined, leaving no backup but computer running without errors reported. You must, if computer is working satisfactory after format, to "immediately" make a backup of computer content.

After checking the Registry, found that I:\New Movie Films is again shown under : Hkey_CurrentUser\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\HME\File 7. The error reappeared today. I honestly thought that I:\New Movie Files had been found and erased permanently. Is it possible that file reference (empty) is deeply inserted in the Registry, as "H" drive shows no reference or indeed drive "I ".
