This is a strange one, no video/post

    Lenovo T500 Thinkpad
    Bios 3.23
    CPU T9400 2.53.Ghz
Ram 4096, Ram tested on another laptop with memtest 12 hours later good!

    This one puzzles me!

I pull the power cord and the battery then upplug the bios battery, plug the bios battery back in and the laptop battery and then the power cord, it boots six times then the sixth time video shows and states bios mismatch.

I then set the date and time press F9 for default settings and then F10 it restarts and back to no video.

Laughing as long as I stay in BIOS on the first try everything looks good. Soon as you hit F10 and it boots, back to no video.

    Any idea folks?

    Thanks before hand.

    I would Google-> bios mismatch.

But before that I would look in the BIOS and make sure the hard drive is the First "Boot Option. "

    Hello

As far as the hard drive my T410S boots with or without the hard drive. And I have tried the T500 with or without.

    Now BIOS:

    BIOS Update Bootable CD

    38.25 MB
    Windows 7 (32-bit)
    Windows 7 (64-bit)
    Windows Vista (32-Bit)
    Windows Vista (64-Bit)
    Windows XP (32-bit)

    3.23/3.25
    12/16/2012

Is the same as what is installed, sure it could be a bios corruption failure
but if that is the case, then how would you go about flashing BIOS with no video?

Hi Havok. If you plug in an external monitor does the laptop still show a black screen? Have you tried replacing the CMOS battery?

    Hello

I did reboot and change the setting to VGA then on the next reboot, (only shut off and then back on two times now) the LCD screen showed up again.

I'm kind of mad being I can not find my fluke meter to check the bios battery. So of course I ordered one online. I could be wrong but it still
seems to me that bios may be corrupt. I did run the Lenovo bios boot cd and a windows popped up stating directory not found cannot continue. Funny pulled the hard drive and was able to run the Lenovo bios updated? Of course it stated no update needed.

I did try to install Windows on the hard drive after loading Windows screen loading files it never went passed the
    scrolling screen and froze.

Glad you got it fixed. Please mark your thread as resolved.

You don't have a Wally World or drug store or Dollar type store near you that you could just pick up a battery for a couple of bucks instead of ordering one on line?

I wouldn't say it's fixed yet, I still have to figure out why when doing a install it halts right after installing drivers and locks up right at scrolling screen. This is with 3 Lenovo T500 Windows 7 Pro Install disks.

    Windows error's

    0X0000061A
    0X00005100
    0XC022F008
    0X00000299
    0X00000200

Oh also this laptop has a bios battery that is wired with a two prong plug, not your normal half dollar type.

Have you tried replacing the hard drive and seeing if Windows 7 installs successfully?

Did you run Memtest86 with one stick installed at a time to make sure that there isn't a faulty RAM module?

Could you please mark both threads that are related to your fried CPU as resolved. Thank you. At the top of you original post click on Thread Tools scroll down to the bottom of the menu and click on the last option.
