    Hi all,

I was having trouble viewing a page in SeaMonkey 1.1.14 and I clicked on Tools to view the page in IE.

    It's not there anymore

    How do I re-add it?

I suppose that you mean IE Tab, as there is no automatic switch built into Seamonkey.
Typically you should have a line in Tools|IE Tab options, as well as an icon just to the left of the Seamonkey icon. The add-on should be in the Profile, although, I think that it could be in the program, so a new Profile, or a program started from scratch may not have it.
My SM1.1.16 lists IE Tab v.1.3.1 in the Extention Uninstaller (a priceless add-on since SM has no good way of handling said add-ons).

    Hi westside,

It's exactly like I stated; there's no "Always View This Page in IE ", nor "Edit IE View Settings" in the Tools window on the drive where I installed SP2.

I'm on my original drive (SP1) in SeaMonkey and in the Tools window, the above is there.

OK, I just booted back to the SP2 disk, uninstalled SM v1.1.14, and installed v1.1.16.

    It's still not there!

Since you mention IE View, which is an add-on, and not part of Seamonkey, you must have had installed the add-on, sometime in the past, and it gone now. IE Tab is different, as it opens IE pages right into Firefox/Seamonkey. v.1.3.3 is the latest version which is supposed to work in Seamonkey.

    Hi Westside,

If I remember correctly, I installed the IE View add-on when I was using Netscape 7.2. And, it was v. 1.3.1 (or close to that).

When I Started using SeaMonkey v. 1.1.1 (I think), I used the same add-on. I tried an updated version of it, but SM wouldn't install the new .xpi.

To further clarify, I used to have the IE options in the Tools Menu on both drives, and both drives had SM 1.1.14; that is until I installed SP2 on the second drive.

Am I the only person in the world that has the IE options in the Tools Menu instead of in the lower right of the SM window? If so, how did I get it

It is counterproductive to have this discussion. I, never, cared for IE View, so I have no experience with it. I see that you have had a long discussion at mozillazine.org, with about the same results. As a rule of thumb, it makes sense to go to the add-on site, since IE View is not part of Seamonkey. It is not the SM
, but rather that the newer add=on versions are not compatible with Seamonkey. They are made for Firefox. Try the IView sitefor questions.

    Hi Westside,

That's why I went to the site after I posted here. I couldn't find any mention of SeaMonkey anywhere and the IE Tab\View; only Firefox. And, some things aren't cross platform "” even though they're both Mozilla. So I figured someone at the source should know which version of IE Tab\View works with SeaMonkey 1.1.14\1.1.16

And, yes, the newest version of IE View (1.4.2) does work with SeaMonkey (even though there's absolutely no mention of SeaMonkey on the site) while earlier versions did not.

Also, I'm sorry if my postings were counterproductive; but since an answer wasn't forthcoming, I looked elsewhere. I was going to post an update this morning that I had the answer I was looking for and to let other SM users know so that if they wanted the IE View, it would work with SeaMonkey.

I meant that we were getting nowhere following the questions being placed. Obviously, no one else had your experience. But, I learnt something doing searches.
I think that it is pretty obvious that there is not much effort placed on add-ons for Seamonkey. Too bad, because SM is the closest thing to the old Netscape.

    Hi Westside,

Obviously! :D I work "outside the box "; meaning I can crash, trash, or break anything faster and more creatively than anyone else.

I know and I feel the same. I've used Netscape since v2.xx and only started using SM because NS had too many security holes and it was unsupported. And, I've donated (small) hoping to keep the SeaMonkey Project® alive.

There is, always, some hope. I am testing Seamonkey 2.0, which has an add-on manager like Firefox. It has taken about 18 months to get to the b1 stage. I keep checking the nightly, more for old time sake than because I hope that a final version will come out.
