No sound in JezzBall

Anyone remember the old Window Ent. Pack game JezzBall? I have it, but can never get it to play sounds. Sound works in all my other apps, just not this 1 game. Are there sound files that need to be put in the same folder with the game?

Graphics/Sound

The graphics are a downer, the only colors are gray, black, white, red and blue, are very repetitive. It's alright, of course, in a game like this where graphics really aren't all that important. So if you're looking for a game with flashy colors and clear images then this game is definitely not for you, but if you looking for a challenging game that is somewhat humdrum when it comes to graphics, look no futher. As for the sound, there isn't any. None. Nothing at all no sound what so ever. So usually I just pop in my favorite cd or mp3's.

OK, so it sounds like Pong but there is sound!

Is JezzBall: possibley a DOS game and the DOS audio is not set up properly.

Or are you using ME ? ME does have problems with some older DOS software.

I have Win98 which has full DOS capabilities but one of my DOS games will not setup with the audio settings for SoundBlaster.

I have to set it for AdLib.

The audio setup is with the game itself.

I installed JezzBall and I have no sound either? I will be very interested in what you find with your game files. The two major files in the JezzBall.zip file were: jezzball.exe and Wep4util.dll. The other file is jezzball.hlp.

It's not DOS based actually. It's a 16-bit Windows 3.1 program, as were all the others in the Entertainment Packs. When taking a look at the .dll file it says "This program cannot be run in DOS mode. "

I have a SoundBlaster Live! Value sound card, but I see nothing in the game itself other than in Options, where you can turn Sound on/off. Doesn't work for me.

The files I show are Jezzball.exe, JEZZBALL.GID, Jezzball.hlp, Jezzdead.wav and Wep4util.dll

When you open JezzBall at the top of the screen are 3 drop down files Game, Options and Help. Under options you turn the sound on or off with a checkmark

Shadowhawk, check to see if you have the jezzdead.wav file, if you do try playing it to see if it may be corrupted.

If you no longer have this file, let me know and I can e-mail it to you, it's only 5.50KB

Thx for the link. I hate Angelfire's no direct linking policy. They're stupid. But I did download the file.

YAY, it worked. Why it wasn't included in the download is beyond me.
