In a Win2K machine my father has he is not getting sound.

In Device Manager audio codecs says this device is working properly but when I open sound properties there are no devices listed on the audio tab.

I went looking for the drivers from the mobo maker but nothing there.

    Any ideas would be appreciated
    Thx

when you say audio codecs, you mean like AAC, mp3 and sort or the sound driver that came with the cd of you sound card or motherboard.

you probably need the cd of it. have you tried SIW to identify your sound device?

hmmm....you cant find the sound driver, you might need to be a little more specific.

hope you fix your pc soon

It's an on board sound card. I found that it was disabled in the BIOS by someone. I enabled it, installed the drivers but still no sound

    Any thoughts still welcomed
    Thx
